RNGA based Centralized PI Controller for Multivariable Non Square Systems using Direct Synthesis Method

Design of centralized PI controllers for multivariable non square systems is proposed in the present work. The controller designed based on direct synthesis method. method includes approximating inverse process transfer matrix with effective function matrix. each element derived by using relative normalized gain array (RNGA), and average residence time (RARTA) concepts Cai et al [1]. models used work include first order processes delay (FOPDT). Maclaurin series applied to reduce resulting standard forms. design requires a single tuning parameter (filter constant) adjust performance controller. Simulation study carried out various case studies results show advantage over literature reported methods. control algorithms are comparatively analyzed robust stability measure. give good lesser interaction compared methods, Davison Method [2] Tanttu Lieslehto’s [3].
